Holiday Activities & Food Programme
What is the HAF programme?
The Holiday Activities and Food programme (HAF) is funded by the government with the aim of providing support to children in receipt of free school meals (benefit-related) through holiday periods and enabling them to attend holiday clubs free of charge.
Who is the programme for?
This holiday provision is for children who receive benefits-related free school meals. Benefits-related free school meals (FSM) are available to pupils if their parents are in receipt of one of the qualifying benefits, and have a claim verified by their school or local authority.
Other children and families may qualify at the discretion of the Local Authority. Please contact them for more information.
How do I know if I am eligible?
You will have been contacted by the council if your child is eligible for the free provision, and provided with your unique HAF ID number. It is important that you keep a note of this as it is required when booking with us. We may already have your ID if your child has previously attended one of our holiday clubs. If you are unsure, please contact the council or send us a message.

The programme supports children to:
- Eat healthily over the school holidays
- Be active during the school holidays
- Take part in engaging and enriching activities which support the development of resilience, character and well-being along with their wider educational attainment
- Be safe and not to be socially isolated
- Have a greater knowledge of health and nutrition
- Be more engaged with school and other local services
