The Holiday Activities and Food programme (HAF) is funded by the government with the aim of providing support to children in receipt of free school meals (benefit-related) through holiday periods and enabling them to attend holiday clubs free of charge.
Who is the programme for?
This holiday provision is for children who receive benefits-related free school meals. Benefits-related free school meals (FSM) are available to pupils if their parents are in receipt of one of the qualifying benefits, and have a claim verified by their school or local authority.
Other children and families may qualify at the discretion of the Local Authority. Please contact them for more information.
How do I know if I am eligible?
You will have been contacted by the council if your child is eligible for the free provision, and provided with your unique HAF ID number. It is important that you keep a note of this as it is required when booking with us. We may already have your ID if your child has previously attended one of our holiday clubs. If you are unsure, please contact the council or send us a message.

HOW TO BOOK
Bookings must be made via the West Sussex Booking System.
If you haven't yet made an account, you will need to do so using your child’s existing HAF code. This is the same code you will have used to book your HAF place previously. If you have recently registered for benefits related free school meals, you will find your HAF code on the award letter sent to you by the Free School Meal team. You may be able to find your HAF code by asking your child’s school office, or alternatively contact the HAF team at haf@westsussex.gov.uk.
